Merry Christmas. It's Wednesday Christmas Day when people are listening to this nice hat.

I know. Feels like, I mean, people don't take me serious anyways, but they for sure won't take me serious with this add on. What does yours say?

Kyle: Mine says, uh, everyone is on the naughty list. And it's by, uh, John Kelvin girl, John Kelvin. We were all sinners. That's why Christmas is good news. Okay. Do you agree?

Yeah. It reminds me, um, there was a church. We said the church, uh, I went to growing up called Glad Tidings or Higher Road Academy. But I used to have a big sign called that said Glide Glad Hidings on it. And I remember my grandpa, so my dad's dad, um, he was over one time, I must've been like 10 or something else like that.

And we would [00:01:00] drive past that sign and he would say, I love dad's name glads. And I'm like, why do you like that name? Did you speak a bit of English? Um, I think a tiny bit, but he could read that. But it would surprise me 'cause I was like, I still grew up. That was a bad church. Because it, it's Pentecostal and it wasn't our church.

And uh, so I was like kind of surprised by that. I'm like, why do you like Glad Hidings? And uh, of course it comes from that verse in the Bible, which I'll read. And the angel said to them, fear not for behold. I bring you good news of great joy and that will be for all people. Alright. And then King James version says, good tidings of great joy.

Okay. And so I was thinking about that a couple years ago. Uh, it's a fact that it's a good tiding of great joy. It is. It is good news, but if you're a Christian, you experience it as good news. And if you're not, you just experience it as news. Just information. Just information. It can't, it's not good. You don't, there's no appetite for it.

No. Which I [00:02:00] think is no interesting.

But yeah, I think it is. It's good news. Interesting. What's your, uh, Christmas plans?

Kyle: I think one my sisters for dinner. Okay. Or dinner. Yeah. Otherwise, we're gonna open gifts in the morning. Okay. It's our first Christmas together in four years. Me, Nicole. Is that a true story?

That's a true story. Oh man. Yeah. Sounds pretty special. It's really sad. Yeah.

Kyle: I mean, it's all, it is. It is sad. It is sad, but it's also just a gift that we're together now and we're really excited to celebrate it together, so. Okay. Wild. Yeah. Okay. We were together like, and there was good times in between there too, but totally it.

Christmas. Christmas,

you just really self-destruct. Last year was people do self-destruct around Christmas. Hey, it is very emotion time. A hard time for a lot of people. Me, it makes no difference. Right? Every day's the same. Just bullshit. Every day's the same. Yeah. I don't different like holidays. I can't stand holidays.

Yeah. Okay. Fair. I hate the commercialization of holidays. [00:03:00] The guy that has the shirt, it says, well, this is from the Santa Shuffle. For those that don't know, what is the Santa Shuffle? Those that are listening, and I'm always a listener. I never watch any podcast. Um, the Santa Shuffle was a fundraiser for the Salvation Army in Chowa.

Okay. Friends of ours are, are, uh, the captains there, and they do a one kilometer walk, five kilometer run. Somebody ran it in like 18 minutes or something. Crazy. Spoke. Be Julius, some guy was pretty fast. No, he wasn't competing. He would've been right up there with that dude. Anyways, so our uh, real estate company, we sponsor it.

And so I got the shirts, me and my kids, we all went, it was Zen. So I'm wearing that along with a, uh, whatever this two hat is, red Hat. That's awesome.

Kyle: Okay. Um,

how was your meeting earlier? Good. Good. Good. I've been a busy real estate week. I got, well, you could tell, right? I was like texting people on the way in here.

Yeah. Yeah. We normally record in the a afternoon, often today we're recording pretty [00:04:00] late at night, Pascal's bedtime. He doesn't function that well at night.

Kyle: How was your staff Christmas party? I.

TT staff. Christmas party was great. Yeah, people had a good time. We went curling, eh? Did you hear that? No. Yeah.

It's actually a great thing. People right away like smirked or made some weird face when I said curling, but who's people? It's not an old like people, younger people look at it like an old person's sport, but it's actually. It's a high skill level. It's pretty hard and it's something that you could do as you got older.

So as long as you didn't fall on the ice and break a hip. But that's

Kyle: for golf. You can do that when you get older

too. Yeah, golf is great for that too. The guy that taught me golf said that as well. It's something that you could do into your old age. So, um, you

Kyle: put it on, you put it on the notes here, so that, that was it.

That was the, the special thing, the staff Christmas party. Oh, did you know if you slide sideways, you can see who made the note. Oh, I did not

know that. Show the, show the camera. That's fascinating. That's wild. I did not know that. I really, the, yeah, I didn't even know you could collaborate on a note on an Apple device Until recently, somebody on Twitter posted this whole thing that you could do on your Apple device.

Cool. Things you could do with notes. And I'm like, okay, but you're getting close, like

Kyle: old age. [00:05:00] I have, I'm in the, yeah,

now that I'm over 40, these iPhones are pretty hard. But yeah, we had a great staff party, amazing team of people. A lot of fun and um, it's super humbling. Especially 'cause I interact with so many different groups of people and so many just people like throughout my day.

It's fascinating. If you look at the people that work for me and have worked for me, some don't anymore, but that have as a general, like almost all, especially right now, I would say like top notch, amazing people. Pretty humbling. Hmm. Literally your business is made up of the people that work for it. Like that's all you have.

Kyle: so that's, that's interesting you say that. 'cause it reminds me of something you told me last year that you've struggled in the past with, uh, you said appreciating your own people.

Yeah. Well they don't listen to the podcast, so they won't get this. But I mean, maybe we could send them the real, they for sure don't pay for the overtime.

Like, I had a couple people in my office, like, they just refuse like good grief and agree race, which is a pride thing. Is that, it's a pride thing. Is that, is that Steph?

Kyle: Because you've made another note. It says, Steph's cheapness not paying for

pretrial. Yeah. We're not gonna say who her last name is. She's a very faithful [00:06:00] listener, but she's so well, there was this thing I read today where it was like some guy posted about, you know, what's frugal, what's cheap?

Right. And Sorry Steph, you're definitely on the cheap side. You, your last name won't remain unnamed to protect guilty parties, but. Wonderful lady. Very generous in some ways, but when it comes to the almighty dollar, she's clinging to it pretty tightly. Okay. She's definitely not giving it to you. And me.

Put it that way. She would say, there's way needier people. Right. Fair enough. She's not even here to defend yourself. But, well,

Kyle: about? We were talking about, uh, doing deals or something, or Yeah.

Was working something, yeah, something, something about making money and, and all of a sudden Gary birded out. I just really, really like making money. I'm like, oh, that's the real Gary.

Yeah. Yeah. Normally the whole like holier than th Yeah. Just throw [00:07:00] generous John. Humble. Anyways. Okay. In the

Kyle: overtime I, Gabriel listener questions, we had a bunch that I missed the last, last episode, last recording, so we got four of 'em.

You got one. I was listening to you tell the story about Paul Henderson and then you stopped mid-sentence. Now I'm curious what happened. Don't think Gary noticed though. He was in another world or in his own world. So, um, this was when you were pulling up the um, uh, your, uh, letter after giving money to the truckers.

Um, and I was talking and you were just on your phone in another world that you didn't hear what I was saying.

I read the whole thing.

Kyle: Yeah, but I was telling the story that you weren't listening to. Okay. So back in like, this is 2018 or something. Paul Henderson is a local Paul, if you're listening, good to thanks.

Thanks for listening. Uh, uh, he was a local reporter here, um, and very liberal and on, on the other side of the aisle. That definitely I'm on. And so I was like, I wanna engage with this guy. And so [00:08:00] I sent him a mail, uh, a letter in the mail, snail mail. So I said, uh, hello Paul. I've been following your journalism work for some time now, and I appreciate the work you do.

I do not always agree with your viewpoint, but I believe it's very important to have journalism that keeps politicians, organizations, companies, and people accountable. I. It's definitely true. I'm writing to you because my wife and I would like to have you for over for dinner at our house. We would love to talk about a range of topics and shared meal with the local journalist.

I also noticed on your Facebook page that you're somewhat of a foodie, so we'll make sure to make something special. I'm not sure if you're married or dating, but if you take up to the offer, if we were to ask, bring whoever, bring your K nine, bring your string, another does Tuesday, May 1st work six o'clock for you.

That's awesome. 2018. Yeah, something like that. I gave my number and I didn't put a return address on there, but I gave him my phone number. Anyways, so he proceeded to take a picture of this and post it on Facebook, and this is what he said in his post. I'm not sure if this would end with a friendly conversation of religious intervention or an abduction with me handcuffed to your radiator [00:09:00] in the basement, but this is by far the oddest.

Miss missive I've ever received, oddest message I've ever received. 12 years reporting on on Chillowak. Why the objectively creepy letter with no return address. Medical assistance in dying in hospice story BCTF, human rights complaint on our famously homophobic school trustee Steve Barry Neufeld, or a part of the Art by Reform Christian Rights Organization campaign to indoctrinate the media and politicians.

Am I reading too much into this question? Mark Dinner sounds good. Invited via mailed letter with no return orders. Not so much. But then you could see actually at the bottom of his picture that I put my phone number there. And some people were commenting saying like, Hey, he put his phone number there, like, what's the deal with the return address?

And then he deleted the post. But I got a screenshot before, uh, you deleted it, so

that's awesome. That's gold. But I genuinely wanna talk to him. I was like, I've totally talked to Paul too. He's obviously a hurting person. Yeah. Hurting you. Pretty, pretty ve pretty angry.

Kyle: So I That was question one.

Um, that was a great story.[00:10:00]

Question two. You know what I thought the question was about? This is how much of a space cadet I am. What? Well, I gave away that, didn't I give away the greatest goal? Paul Henderson, the other, like the Paul Henderson who's 80 who scored Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Right.

Kyle: Oh, that's who you were thinking about, right?

That's what I was

thinking. The minute you were like, oh, what Paul Henderson story is like from the marriage conference. 'cause he spoke at the marriage conference I was at. But anyways, second question.

Kyle: All right. Question two. You've both, I think, mentioned weekly marriage meetings before. Could you consider talking about these in more detail as one of your topics?

I started marriage meetings. I. Um, well actually did two different types of meetings. Dave Curry taught me to do a meeting every single day with my wife. Okay. Where we ask each other like 10 different questions every day or five different questions and kinda just share about your day, which was, we did that for about a year, which was really nice.

Just connecting more. We were going through a tough time. But the marriage meeting that we do now is inspired by you, which we do on Sunday evenings. Probably once a month. We [00:11:00] should be doing more often, but we kinda skip on it. Okay. And we, uh, share one thing we liked each other about each other that week.

One thing that we didn't like each other about each other, like a criticism or something. Mm-hmm. Um, we go through our whole calendar together. Okay. And we look at our finances together.

Okay.

Kyle: And then we sometimes pray together, sometimes not.

So if you don't do it every week, how do you know that you do it once a month?

Or how do you pick when you do it if you're not scheduled on a certain day? Well, it's, it's, it is in, it's in

Kyle: the calendar for Sundays at eight o'clock. Okay. Um, it's just that sometimes we just skip on it.

We ne we, we would probably almost never miss, mostly. 'cause if we started missing, I don't know if I'd ever do it again.

'cause that's just my nature.

Kyle: Okay.

Um, and the thing is, when we do the compliments in the beginning. And if you look at that and we could actually post the link. I'll, I'll send you the link. We could post it in here if people are watching. Um, what link? The link to how to do a marriage meeting That's right on their website.

They have a whole video now on Who's about that? They just, on Family Life Canada. They just Oh, okay. They just created content on this. [00:12:00] Oh, okay. And I was at that meeting. I think I, that's where you got the idea

Kyle: from.

Well, yes. Like a year and a half, two years ago at a, at a family life marriage conference.

Okay. Um, that Marie and I go to every year, but it was very much, um, so at the end of you doing your compliments, you, you're supposed to ask, did I miss anything? Did I miss any compliments? Yeah. And do you guys do it? Yeah, we do. Yeah. And I often miss things. What, what did,

Kyle: what did, uh, Marie

miss with you last week?

What did she miss? Oh, how helpful I am. I'm so helpful. I took out the garden. I'm not that helpful. I'm not that helpful. No. And when I am helpful, she appreciates it. Um, but, um, it's fascinating how. It makes you just way more intentional even throughout the week, if you are looking for ways that you're gonna compliment yourself, now you're looking for good things that they're doing.

If you're constantly focused on your wife, Hey, what is this now? I mean, if she's a real piece of work, I guess, and she's a savage not doing for you, and it's horrible. I mean, hey, if you're in that spot, you probably need some other, you can always probably find one good thing though you can, and I mean. You know, you're a real piece of work and she hasn't left you.

I mean, [00:13:00] that's something to be grateful for. So what

Kyle: do you guys all do

Kyle: guys

start with that. We start with that and, um, you don't want your marriage meeting to go on too long. Like they would say never more than a half an hour. You'll have one spouse that just loves long meetings and the other one hates long meetings.

Yeah. So, and vice versa, like, you don't wanna be rushing through it. If you're the person that can't stand sitting there talking to your wife, it's like, Hey, put up with it 25 minutes of your week. Not a big deal. Um, and it's super connecting. And it's interesting, and I'm sure other couples are way better than I am, but for me, I don't like, I'm just, I struggle doing the right things.

A lot of the time. I struggle being intentional with my wife. Right? So it's like a great, we know that we are gonna have that meeting and then yeah, we go over our calendar second, and then the third thing we normally do, finance is a great one, but I mean, that could just. Fall into the contentious category at the end.

Uh, if there is concerns, it's more, unless you're planning. But for us, our third thing we always do is plan for fun. And that's been super helpful 'cause there again, I don't plan for the next, for the coming week, anytime. Okay, so like if we're gonna go on a summer holiday, and we kind of know that in our marriage meeting, we wouldn't necessarily plan it [00:14:00] then, but we would and, and we would just, um, plan responsibilities to who's doing what.

Kind of like that. But a lot of times we'll be like, Hey, we, we should go on a summer holiday. What does that look like? And we'll just take the time to talk about it in that spring break's coming up, what are we gonna do? Hey, what are we, you know, and then you're, when you're planning to do fun stuff together as a family, it's pretty encourage, pretty encouraging.

And I don't know if we, it feels like we've talked about this a lot on here, but maybe we've only mentioned it once or twice. But when you have a scheduled, the best part, there's lots of good things. The complimenting at the beginning's awesome. And the, and it's not just criticism, it could just be challenges.

It could be things that are frustrating. It could be very petty like, Hey, you leave crap on the floor. You talk with your food. Okay, so what's your order now? So you're, you start with compliments, compliments. Go over the weekly Ske calendar. Yeah. Marie has like the full pager, the big mother and the phones out with all the staff.

She has to have everything written down and on the phone and whatever. Right. She spends usually an hour before our meeting, have her own meeting by herself to get herself straightened out so she can have the meeting with me, um, which, whatever. That's good. Right. So she's very prepared. She's real school [00:15:00] teacher, right?

Yeah.

Kyle: Gets, gets scary Half hour week. So

yeah. Savage, Savage, Savage is always a hint of truth in the savage ness. So that's the problem. Um, she'll like that shot. Um. That reminds me of the reel that you played a few episodes ago where the guy said, you're doing it for you. Or the lady said, you're doing it for you.

You're not doing it for us. And the kids like, she has that saved, ready to send to me at moment. She's like, I got that one saved. It's great content. True. Um, and there's truth to that. It, it's, you don't, you don't get to keep, uh,

Kyle: compliments, go through the schedule.

Yeah. And then plan for fun. And then the end, you wrap it up with the, uh.

With the, Hey, what? What's an issue in our marriage? Right. Okay. Something that, something that's been bugging you. Yeah, something that's been bugging you, and it's fascinating if you have to wait. You don't have to wait, but if you're wise, like a wise person doesn't bring up something in the, they're upset about in the exact moment, that's just foolish.

Yeah. It's not gonna go well. Yeah. So if you wait, one of two things happens. A, you've really thought about it. Yeah. Right? Yeah. And you all of a sudden are like, okay, I've thought this through. I've thought of the reasons [00:16:00] I've thought of, areas where, hey, I, I do the same thing. I can, you know, buffer my criticism with, Hey, I realize that sometimes I'm news too, but it really drives me crazy when you do it.

And then on the other side. 80% of the things, of course, 'cause this is human nature are petty, they're not worth worrying about. And you are just being not gracious, short, fused, and you just gotta let. So for someone that

Kyle: doesn't like conflict or confrontation, do you find this part hard?

Yeah, and Maurice, that's been an issue.

So she'll bring it up in the marriage meeting. Oh, that you don't give crazy. How come every time you say there's nothing wrong, of course this thing's wrong. Like you're not that happy. You can't BS me, we're married. But no, I do, I do bring stuff up and I, and, um. And it's like, it's the old saying that I've said many times, like, conflict is the pathway to intimacy.

Yes. And if you want to have deep in intimacy with somebody, not just your spouse, with anybody, with employees, with friends, you're going to have, you should have a bit of a rub once in a while. There should be that awkward moment of I'm sharing something that potentially could go wrong. And that's the beauty of doing it in a marriage meeting in, in that, in that schedule.

If you have a [00:17:00] reasonable, I, I think if you, if your marriage was on the rocks, maybe it would look different, but like for most people that are doing reasonably okay and not like in deep trauma and having some horrible things, when you, your spouse has the chances to bring up something too. So you're guarded.

Like, it doesn't mean you don't say what's wrong, but you just go into it with the understanding that, hey, I can, you could be a savage and blaster with both barrels. Yeah, she gets to do the same thing and there's a laundry list of things my wife come up with in areas that I'm falling short or doing the wrong thing.

So I, I think it's pretty awesome and it's been really, really good for us. How long have you been

Kyle: doing it now?

Over a year. Okay. And mostly I would say, uh, Marie, Marie could say better than I could. I'd be curious to know exactly how, why she feels it's so great. But I think it's just a great connecting time.

It's a time where we both know that we're gonna have each other's. I mean, she gets back and

Kyle: afterwards your vertical, um, desires go horizontal or what?

No, no. We just stay vertical. We just dance. Just dance in the kitchen. Oh dear. Old joke.

Kyle: Yeah. Is that the end of the marriage meeting? That's a, I mean, that's, I think that's a good answer.

I mean, I would say [00:18:00] to anybody considering doing it like the first couple, 3, 4, 5 times doing it, it's gonna feel awkward and weird and, and or not. Or not,

because there's literally a written program for it. You can just go through the, like, there's even a book, I've given the book to people.

Kyle: Yeah. But I just know there's a lot of people that try things and after one time it didn't go perfect, so they're like, oh, shit didn't work for me.

I'm like, no, no, it's really important. Just do it. It's really important. Commit to it for a while and,

and you'll probably get a lot of benefit from it. So, yeah. And if someone that's doing listening to this has experience, love to hear it. Yes, love, love to hear it.

Kyle: And on that note, keep sending in questions and, and, uh, thoughts, whatever else that will answer them.

So, okay. Another question. I'm surrounded by men who can justify sacrificing just about anything for work. That would be my question for the show. How can I convince my husband he's addicted to work? I

don't think you can. No, I don't think you can either. You, you can't. Uh, yeah, that was hopeless answer.

That was really sad.

Kyle: No, I think it's, I think it's the truth. It's a

personal journey.

Kyle: Um, and remind me of a verse I read. I wish I had it ready now, uh, [00:19:00] in, in, uh, read it a couple weeks ago, was that, um, the unbelieving, uh, um, husband is sanctified by his believing wife.

Yeah. Or even just somebody that, like lots of people that are Christians are working too much.

Right. That I would fall in that. That's fair too. I mean, I, I think that there's been a lot of times where I've just justified it

Kyle: prayer

Yeah. Pray.

Kyle: But if you're, but like, it reminded me of, um, yeah, but there we go. Can I,

can I back up? Yeah. Sorry. No, you go ahead. I'll remember my thought. I apologize.

Kyle: Something that Curry told Nicole. Uh, about a year ago and said, try love Kyle as hard as you can and see what happens. And it did make a huge difference. Now that is not the be all end all, and

it won't

Kyle: work sometimes and it won't work sometimes. And it could be that, that nothing changes at all. But nothing is

reciprocated.

But often it

Kyle: does. Often it does and, and. Working on yourself is the only thing you can really do. Like, you can't change. Mm-hmm. Your, your significant other, [00:20:00] uh, marriage meetings happen, like are good 'cause you can give criticism to whatever, but like, you can only really work on yourself. Um, and the more awesome someone is, it's really hard to be a jerk or something.

That's super awesome. Now that's really hard because sometimes you're just like. In a really tough position or you're actually not being respected at all or whatever, all those other things. Mm-hmm. I think that's definitely happening. Yeah. It's

definitely a loaded,

Kyle: a loaded question. Just what going on.

It's really complicated. I, I think, but, um, I think, yeah, being, being open, go for counseling. I mean, a lot of guys, guys won't even do that.

So I guess my question is, and that's an interesting 'cause I, I brought that up with somebody the other day that I feel really desperately a couple that needed counseling and I brought it up with, with the one spouse, and I'm like, well.

Will they go? And it was like. No, I don't think so. But I guess I always wonder like, hey, if somebody says they really love somebody, like if you get, and that's where I was gonna go with this, if somebody could implement the marriage meeting first. Now maybe the person won't even do that. Yeah. But if you could say, Hey, it's really important to me that we try to do this, and [00:21:00] you create this healthy space where there's this conversation and hey, maybe the husband says, no, I wouldn't mind being at home more, but like whenever I'm home I'm getting nagged or whenever, you know what I mean?

Yeah. They're just throwing hypotheticals out there or whatever. Or mostly like with the work calls and thing, if it's a Dutch person, they just love, they just. Are driven and they're trying to make money and build an empire. So, I mean, there's probably no excuse, right? In my case, it's like I have to consciously choose the right thing, which is spending time with my family, and,

Kyle: but

Kyle: think everyone has that.

Everyone has things where they have to con,

well, it would just be something else. It might not be work, but you're

Kyle: totally right.

You're totally right, but also

Kyle: you mean you go like you go for counseling just by yourself and, and get advice from your counselor, like talk to your pastor about it. Like, uh, the most

insightful thing you said was that the only thing you can change is your is working on your own stuff.

Yeah. And I mean, people don't, you know what, it doesn't, it's not the answer we're looking for. 'cause we feel like if the other person would just do this better than I'd be happier and. And of course there is some of that, and some people are being horribly mistreated. So like I say, it's a loaded question without knowing everything.

But yes, I do feel like a lot of people are so busy focused on the shortcomings or the lack thereof in their partner, and it's like, well, there's a [00:22:00] lot of things that we can just work on internally that will help. And, and people notice that even people that are busy, I mean, maybe not, but a lot of times, yeah, it's like, wow, when you're,

Kyle: and it, it also reminds me of that, that guy that, uh, I talked to a couple.

Months ago now, I guess that I shared on the podcast that he started praying every day for 20 minutes a day. The Oregon guy. Um, yeah. Yeah, because he just wanted to get this job, um, really badly and it started changing everything in his life. Like I think we underestimate the power of prayer, which actually brings me to the show sponsor.

But like if you're spending five or 10 minutes and I'll get to that, you'll appreciate it. Um, but if you spend five or 10 minutes a day praying for your spouse Yeah. Which I think we should all do anyway. And I don't do it that long, but like I would almost want to say like a hundred percent sure that it'll make a significant difference if you do that consistently.

Like there, it's, we don't live just in a 3D world, but it's a spiritual world. God is real. Yeah. Tell 'em you're praying for 'em. Yeah. Say, yeah, I'm praying for you. So that's what we are praying for. We're praying for a miracle, and God is the great healer. So yeah, if you're a prayer and you're, uh, you believe in the power of prayer, pray. Pray for that boy. Pray for his parents and his extended family, and.

Kyle: Yeah. Hit pause. Hit pause for a second, and, and pray. Like I, I more and more really believe in prayer.

Yeah. That like, it's a, a real God, and, and miracles do happen. And it doesn't mean that this is now like he's gonna get healed. Now. We, we don't know obviously, but, um, his family, his family needs it. He needs it. It's Christmas today and uh, you know, obviously Christmas looks [00:24:00] different this year for them.

Now this is old news for anybody listening, so it'll be fascinating to hear this in hindsight. Um, but probably the biggest political event in my life happened today in Canadian politics. Um, where the finance, the, in your life, would you just say?

Yeah, I think so. I think so. It's a really big deal. It's that big. Okay. It's that big. Have you read the letter that she wrote? No, you gotta read the letter. Okay. So Christopher Freeland and if you're an American, if, I dunno if any Americans listen to this thing or from other countries, but we have a finance minister who's the deputy minister in Canada.

Yeah. Right under the Prime Minister, second in command. Ironically, in Canada there's only one dictator that's the prime minister. It's always been like that. And it's not just 'cause [00:25:00] we have a real dictator in there now. Even when conservative governments have been in, uh, the Prime Minister, ironically. And I was taught this in social studies 11 by a great social studies teacher.

Uh, but the prime Minister has probably more power than the president does in the us. Oh, way more. Way more. Like they just, they have everybody whipped, they have the whole party toe in the line. Oh, nobody's, you know, you just,

Kyle: that's why I like the American, um, system better because they have way less power and it's way more checked with the four forms of government.

But I don't like that. I digress. I don't like, I digress like that. I personally keep going. Your story, like our model,

and I know my brother and I have a bet, right? I've told you this, that we have a bet who's gonna be Prime Minister first. So I would for both. I would prefer that it would just stay how it is in case I do get in powered.

But anyways, I'm scary. Could you imagine Supreme Dictator? Anyways, Christopher Freeland finance minister was set to. Prepare to give her full economic update today in the House of condoms. And at the exact moment, basically when she was supposed to come out, um, and at the exact moment that somebody else gave the resignation, she gave her resignation, um, saying that she, she was basically.

I mean, and there's a [00:26:00] whole bunch of backstory here with, uh, a lady, I forget her name, Phil Pot. Uh, a good, another great cabinet minister, uh, Jody Raymond Wilson. Yeah. Who wrote a book called Indian in the Cabinet. My wife's read it. It's one of her just a amazing book. I'm gonna read it now. Wow. Yeah. It's a phenomenal book.

Just skewers our, our, our great supreme leader. Like just, well, mostly because he's such a virtue signaler. Like, you know, it's one thing if you run over women, but if you act like you are the greatest female supporter of, well, he just wouldn't even know what a female. Chronic liar. Yeah, narcissist, uh, controlling psychopath.

But anyways, that was pretty derogatory. But he's definitely does not treat these ladies well, and this lady or anybody else has been, or anybody. But he, this lady has been his right hand, right hand. Uh, very, I, I think a lot of us would say not competent, I would argue, I would say not that competent. Uh, but when somebody like Krista Freeland.

Says, Hey, we've gone and we've spent too much and we've gone too far. You know, we're in deep trouble and it all stems and we hardly touched on it, but I've been lighting my hair on fire ever since about the $250 check. Yeah. [00:27:00] That was supposed to come to every working person that was making less than 150,000 a year.

Now that was not gonna come anyways, and I think for sure it's not coming now, but it wasn't gonna pass. Yeah. 'cause nobody would support it. Yeah. The NDP wanted. The, the liberal party to even dig up. Yeah. The

Kyle: H-S-T-P-S-T thing did pass. That

did go through, so that's happening. Total nightmare. Some companies aren't even bother implementing it.

I think it's gonna save about four or $5 per Canadian. The problem is, is that that adds up to over a billion dollars. So it's like, you know, we're gonna say, Hey, we're gonna add on a billion dollars in long-term debt so we can all save $4. No, like.

Kyle: Yeah,

let's keep the four bucks, let's keep the federal deficit down.

Kyle: Yeah.

So interestingly enough, they did come out with the statement today, the news, the whole world was a fire at a, in the political spectrum of kind of how upset pe how, how crazy it was. He didn't show his face to my knowledge. Now, I didn't watch the news tonight or whatever, but, okay, what did she say in her letter?

Uh, basically that he had tried to say she was no longer gonna be the cat. She was, he was just gonna do a, shuffle her into a new role because she refused to tow the, his line and his line. Like, and he, and it's interesting 'cause he had the same thing with Bill Meno, [00:28:00] uh, who was the Yeah. Finance minister who is a way more conservative version of, of finance than Christopher Freeland is.

And hi, his chief of staff, I think it was his chief of staff, wrote a scathing. Um, review on Justin Trudeau as well today on, on the Prime Minister. So like, bill knows it. Okay. In hindsight, now that this had come out, I mean, everybody get, everybody gets brave at the end, right? It's fascinating how everybody, uh, pulls out the knives from the person I read that's

Kyle: considering stepping down now.

Oh, he's been, I mean, I'm sure he is considering every day, but I mean, I doubt it actually will, but I doubt it. So it's gonna be So how

Kyle: do you think this works internally? Do you think he just is running a one man show? Do you think he is like. Like he has this, like a few of his people pushing his buttons and saying, this is what you should be doing.

Like, he's not that smart, is he?

Oh, I think the actual control piece in the decision making, like even for example, the, the, the idea to give out the checks is a completely Trudeau idea. I. Like he, they did not call an economist, not even a liberal economy. They didn't call any economist to ask if that was a good idea.

Basically just like thought it's super inflationary. It was just like, buy votes. [00:29:00] People hate us. How will people like us? We'll give them money. People are pretty dumb and people are pretty dumb. I mean, they, in 2021, he got elected with a minority government. That's part of, that's, I believe, blame you

an election.

I blame the

Kyle: media for that. No, no. The media pushes that guy as like the hero. They do. They do. If they were honest, he would not have been elected once

they do, but

Kyle: he's a drama teacher.

He is a drama teacher. He is creating the drama. You gotta give him credit. He's actually, he's doing good job. He, he's doing a good job.

Kyle: got a plus in that category.

Yeah. But anyways, I find it fascinating. I'm a total political junkie, and I will be very curious by the time this comes out, has he resigned? Has he stepped down? And so the other interesting thing is she didn't resign as a, as an MP or anything. Right? Like she just stepped outta cabinet.

Yeah. So it's as if she's pulling, like she's always just kind of been there taking the crap and wearing everything that he's put on her, and now she's doing this. It's like she's just priming herself up to run against him when he finally says, Hey, I'm not gonna be the leader going into the next election, or eventually the entire caucus, like with the entire liberal [00:30:00] party, all the members revolt and say, Hey, we've had enough.

You are, which they can do. They can do that.

Kyle: I mean, they were talking about it already like a month ago. So, yeah,

well, 30 or 40 of them have written a letter, but there's quite a few of them. So pretty interesting. Anyways.

Kyle: I mean, and drag meet Singh was like calling for his recogni resignation today and I'm like, drag meet.

You can call the flipping election right now. Yeah, yeah. So how it works for the Americans is that, that there's another, there's three big parties, there's actually four parties there. Que parties is big parties, which is basically a separate party. Party. A separate party party. They, they wanna piece out, uh, which I'd be okay with.

Um, then you have the conservatives, which aren't really conservatives except for fiscally, and you have the liberals and then you have the ndp, which is basically like. Ocasio-Cortez liberals on steroids and yeah. And so that leader Jug meed saying he could call an election if they like had the majority of seats basically, but he can

force it at any time.

But he is not because he wanted his pension. Yes. And he would not have got elected back in. And so he waited. He's pushing, stalling it until he's served enough days. There's exact amount of days that they have to have [00:31:00] served before they get their pension, which is for life, and it's costing us a lot of money.
